How to Install a Roller Blind

There are many different types of window blinds. Each type uses a different control system. A roller blind, for example, operates by tilting the slats, while a vertical blind can be operated by pushing or pulling the blind's strings. Roller blinds are the most popular type of window covering.

To install a roller blind, you must follow these steps. Start by laying the fabric on a flat surface, ensuring that it is the wrong side facing upwards. The Roller Blind Shade Fabrics should have a hem of around 5cm/2in, which will prevent fraying. You must also cut the bottom bar 2cm shorter than the blind's width, and slide it into the casing. If you have a spring-mechanism roller blind, you should thread the cord through an acorn or knot holder.

For fabrics with high absorbency, fabric stiffener can be used. It is available in the form of a spray or a solution. It will stiffen most fabrics, though it's not recommended for synthetic or Scotchgard-coated fabrics. However, it will work well on most cotton fabrics, and will prevent creases and wrinkles.

Another method involves reversing the roller blind. This is a good option if you want to minimize the amount of light coming into the room. The blind will be flipped horizontally, leaving a larger gap between the material and the window. This technique will also allow more light to escape.
